Prayer Songs have a great power to create an atmosphere of prayer. Since many of the lyrics are from the Sacred Scripture, they are good Biblical Prayer. They are very powerful also because of the imminent power of the Word of God.
Prayer songs will be sung in the beginning, in between, and especially during the prayer for infilling of the Holy Spirit and Healing. It will help a lot. Even if you don’t feel like singing, please sing loudly.
Again the Rosary, being the meditation and prayer on the mysteries of our Redemption brought about by Jesus, has a tremendous power to break all the chains of the powers of the darkness. Moreover, it, being the prayer with the beloved Mother of Jesus, has a miraculous influence before the throne of God. And our Blessed Mother, intercedes for all those who attend the Prayer Meeting as she did at Upper Room for the first Pentecost and at Cana.
Reciting the Rosary meditatively, lovingly and intentionally will help a lot.
The prayer of praise is an effective prayer. The best example is given by our Lord Himself: "At that very moment he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said: "I give you praise, Father, Lord of heaven and earth…." ( Lk. 10: 21-22). Our Blessed Mother, meeting with her cousin Elizabeth plunged in to praise, saying: "My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord ……….." (Lk. 1: 46—55).
It is evident that these prayers of praise were in loud voice, audible to others. Scripture says that St. Paul and Silas praised God loudly while in prison and their chains were broken and all the prisoners were set free. Since in loud praise, the name of the Lord is lifted up, it has a tremendous power, power even to shook the foundations that blocks us.
Therefore, even if you don’t like to praise loudly, please do it with faith. You will see its power in your own life and in others around.
The word of God has the power to heal. Wisdom 16:12. Mt. 8:16, Ps.107:17-20 – all these illustrate the power of the Word of God to heal. And in Jesus’ ministry, preaching the Kingdom of God and Healing the sick both went together. Hence, in our prayer meetings, where Jesus acts, there is the room for healing. We need to expect the healings with great faith.
Therefore in every prayer meeting there will be a small session for healing. Come prepared with great faith and expectation for your own healings and those who requested your prayer.
Some of the healings will be announced here. It is done using the gift of knowledge which is gift of the Holy Spirit, which enables me to realize some the healings taken place in the congregation or in the people who are not present here. Such announcement is made under the full control of the Holy Spirit. So it is dependable. No body has the intention to cheat any body. Sometimes, some may find it difficult to believe such things. Wait in faith and see the results later with an openness to the Healing power of the Lord.
It is also very important to testify to the healing- whether physical or mental- which you or your people received. It is an act of humility before God and a way of worship in truth and Spirit. Remember Jesus’ words: "if you acknowledge me before others, I will acknowledge you before my Father". From the way Jesus dealt with the woman healed of a hemorrhage shows clearly that he wants us to give testimony to the healings and wonders of God amidst us.
Many of the healings may not be perceptible then and there, but claim those healings in the name of Jesus and praise Him for them. Then, faith in what God has revealed will gradually lead you to the awareness of many healings. How much better is to believe in God’s love and mercy towards the sick than to doubt the Divine Power to heal. Take head the words of the Lord to St. Thomas: "Do not be unbelieving but believing" (Jn 20: 27).
It is an act of thanksgiving to the Good Lord. He deserves that. It will build up our faith. It is an opportunity to share our faith. It will help others to put more trust in the presence of the Lord in our midst.
